In his latest interview with radio show host Howard Stern on Wednesday, “Scream” actor David Arquette, 39, said that his psychologist, whom he sees once a week, believes he’s having a “nervous breakdown.”
But despite his own claims, Arquette has taken to his Twitter.com page to insist he is not experiencing a meltdown.
âIt is being reported that I’m having a Nervous Breakdown. I assure you [I] am not,â Arquette wrote on his Twitter account. When Howard Stern asked Arquette if he was having a breakdown on his radio show Wednesday, Arquetteâs response â âI believe soâ – made rapid-fire headlines. But the 39-year-old actor says the statement was over-hyped.
The actor blames it all on deep depression that has come from the collapse of his marriage to the âCougar Townâ star Courteney Cox, something he again called Howard Sternâs Sirius radio show to chat about.
“Everybody’s worried and concerned about me,” he added. “When I drink, I become a maniac.”
Father to Coco, 6, Arquette would also like more kids. But instead of saying he hoped to have more with Cox, he told Stern he wishes the mom could be his ex-girlfriend Drew Barrymore.
“I know she is with Justin Long and everything, but how cool would an Arquette-Barrymore child be?” he said. “From a pure breeding standpoint.”
Former âFriends’ star Cox recently insisted she and David have no plans to divorce, despite their separation and praised her estranged husband, describing him as her “best friend”.
