Have you or someone that you love been impacted by breast cancer? The United States government, pharmaceutical companies, and researchers have begun a new treatment study to aggressively treat breast cancer. This latest cancer study could change the way that aggressive forms of breast cancer are treated by oncologists.
This new study involves using patients own tumors to reveal a course of treatments that are best suited from their own genetic markers. This is called I-Spy2. With the research that is collected from this study, researchers will be able to design Phase three trial drugs that are less expensive for drug companies to make. It will also help narrow down the selection process for drug trials so that the right patients are selected much more quickly. If this happens then the Phase three drugs which are in the final testing stages before FDA approval will help get breast cancer drugs out to the open market quicker than ever before.
The study is expected to cost the five drug companies involved around twenty six million dollars, but the study will go on over five years to ensure that the best results are found. Hopefully, after this study is completed there can be better treatments for breast cancer patients so that they can increase the survival rate.

Lovely. Wish we heard half as much fuss about prostate.
