A recent study shows that having good health may help people lead longer, more satisfying sex lives. The results of this study show that those who are in good health are twice as likely to be interested in sex when they reach middle age and beyond. These people are also much more likely to experience a busy and satisfying sex life.

This study is the first of its kind, and compares how the general health of a person affects his or quality of sex with age. The study is also the first to attempt to calculate a person’s sexually active life expectancy.

During the course of the study, information was obtained from over 6,000 men and women. The information was gathered in midlife and then again in later life. The findings showed that, at 55 years of age, the average sexually active life expectancy for a woman was 10.6 years while a man’s was a few years longer, 15 years. However, even though the sexually active life expectancy of men was found to be longer, more males than females suffer from poor health. Having poor health leads to a decrease in a person’s average sexually active life expectancy. The news that older adults can still enjoy years of sexual activity beyond that age of 55 is very promising.
