The very young Layla Grace has passed away after her public battle against stage 4 Neuroblastoma. The two year old’s parents took to their Twitter account to spread the word about this rare form of cancer. Little Layla struggled for her life for eleven months but ultimately this terrible cancer took her precious life.
Her parents, Ryan and Shanna Marsh are hoping their daughter’s plight will bring more funding and research to this awful disease. Some may question their actions but these parents were willing to do whatever it took to save their child’s lives, even starting a Facebook page. The social network site generated 28,000 fans and united the country in the fight for Layla’s life. Their tweets gained them more than 42,000 followers including celebrities Ryan Seacrest and Paris Hilton.
The little girl’s triumphs and struggles became a part of thousands of people’s lives and when doctor’s gave the devastating news that Layla was in the final weeks of her life, it crushed the hearts of many. Her parents took her home to live out her final weeks. Their tweets became more devastating as the pain became unbearable for the brave little girl, and she could do little more than sleep away her last days.
