When deciding which is the better diet to choose, the low-fat diet has been found to be better than the low-carb diet in the long run.
In a recent issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine, the low-fat diet wins over the low-carb diet. This is because more low-carb dieters gained the weight back than the low-fat dieters even though the weight is lost faster in a low-carb diet. A three-year research study was done with 132 obese persons. The low-carb dieters ate less than 30gm/day of carbs with no restrictions on the caloric intake. The low-fat dieters had an intake of 500 kcal/day with less than 30% of it from fat.
In the first year, the dieters met with a nutritionist once per month. After that, no more support was provided. In six months the low-carb group lost the most weight, but after twelve months the weight loss was very much the same.
After three years, both groups did lose weight, however, the low-fat group lost the weight slowly while at the same time, the low-carb group lost the weight quickly, and then began to gain it back.
The healthiest way to keep the weight off is to have a diet low in fat and salt and to add exercise as part of a regular lifestyle.

You can lose weight quickly just by eliminating drinks from your diet that contain calories. Switch to water, seltzer, or diet drinks. That alone could save 100′s of calories. If you don’t want to exercise, you could try just walking and stretching daily, just to get your body moving. Any movement will burn calories which will help weight loss.
