Newlywed Brooklyn Decker has been given one of the most coveted spots in the modeling industry. Revealed on David Letterman’s show Monday night, Andy Roddick’s wife of 10 months has been named the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition Cover Girl.
Letterman did his best to prolong the suspense, as he first claimed a photo of new Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown from a GQ shoot he did years ago was to be the feature photo on SI, before pulling that shot away and revealing the tennis star’s wife. The 22 year old Decker will be appearing in the sports monthly for the fourth time in her modeling career but this will be the first time she’s appeared on the cover.
The Kettering, Ohio native has burst onto the scene since moving to New York in 2005, with appearances in the television shows ‘Chuck’, ‘Ugly Betty’, and ‘Royals Pains’. Her modeling career has included shots in Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, FHM, and Victoria’s Secret.
Decker and Roddick’s relationship first became public knowledge during the 2007 Davis Cup final between Russia and the US when she was seen rooting him on. In March of 2008, Roddick announced on his website that the two were engaged, and they later married on April 17th, 2009.
