Suicide Rate Increases With News of Prostate Cancer:
A recent study published by PlosMedicine.Org, revealed that there is a higher risk of suicide within the first week of a patient learning that they have prostate cancer. These findings are more pronounced in younger men with the risk being doubled. Out of 168,584 cases studied, 0.08% committed suicide.
Vegetables Proven to Help Guard against Prostate Cancer:
Several vegetables have been proven to not only lower the risk of prostate cancer, but to also cure it. In a study conducted by researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, it was discovered that by eating up to 28 servings of these vegetables per week, men had a 35% lower risk of getting prostate cancer. These vegetables, which are full of vitamins and minerals can include; Brussels sprouts, Kale, cabbages, onions, leeks, broccoli, spinach, and greens.
Effect of Coffee on Prostate Cancer:
A team of scientists at Harvard Medical School were led by Kathryn Wilson to study the effects of coffee on prostate cancer with significant results. 50,000 men who drank coffee, with no distinction between caffeine or decaffeinated, were studied over a 20 year time period. It was found that men who drank at least 6 cups a day had a 60% lower risk of the deadly cancer than men who drank none. Additionally, the risk was 20% lower for men who drank 3 cups a day, and 25% lower for those drinking 4 cups daily.

My doctor was aweful when he told me about my diagnosis of aggressive advanced prostate cancer, my guess is that if you look to the health professionals who break the news you will find a correlation with suicides. As Winston Churchill said, he who destroys mens hope is committing an act of evil. many people survive even aggressive, metastacized cancer and it is fair to say that if you believe you are going to die quickly, you probably will. The medical profession should teach good bedside manners.
