A Tunisian woman is set to give birth to 12 babies later this month. Imagine the number of diapers needed every day.
“I am feeling fine and looking forward to hugging my six boys and six girls,” said the woman, from Gafsa, Tunisia, who is yet to be named.
Despite being warned of the “colossal” risks, the Tunisian woman is defying medical advice and if successful, will smash the current record of nine babies born naturally. Experts state it is possible for a woman to be pregnant with 12 babies however is very remote that all or even one of the babies will survive the birth. One expert claims that there is less than 1 in 100 chance that even one of the babies will survive.
The father, identified only as Marwan who teaches Arabic at a high school, is backing her. He says: “In the beginning we thought that my wife would give birth to twins.
“But more fetuses were discovered. Our joy increased with the growing number.”
