New details have been released on the death of “Kung Fu” star David Carradine that say the cause of death was asphyxiation.
Carradine, 72, was found naked, hanging in the closet of his Bangkok hotel room on June 4.
Carradine’s family hired forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden to do a second autopsy following up on the Thai investigation after he was found dead with a rope around his neck.
Dr Baden stated: “He didn’t die of natural causes, and he didn’t die of suicidal causes from the nature of the ligatures around the body, so that leaves some kind of accidental death.”
Police in Thailand carried out the first investigation of the “Kung Fu” actor’s death. They said on June 8 it would take a month to know how he died but that the likely cause of death was asphyxiation.
Carradine’s ex wife Marina Anderson noted in court documents that he practiced “deviant intimate behavior which was potentially deadly.”
Carradine’s family indicated that he may have been tangled in the shady martial arts underground — an interest that could have led to his demise.
