Farrah Fawcett Anal Cancer Update

Actress, Farrah Fawcett’s battle with anal cancer seems to be drawing to an end. After a three-year-long fight, she has reportedly stopped treatment and is saying her last goodbyes to family and friends. This includes her son, Redmond, who is in jail on drug charges but allowed visitation under supervision and her 91-year-old father, James. Actor, Ryan O’Neil, Fawcett’s long-time companion, has been by her side every step of the way and has been reported to say he is the most in love with Fawcett now than he ever has been.

The doctors are uncertain how much time Fawcett has left, but she is in the last stages of the cancer and is confined to a bed at home.

In 2006, Fawcett was diagnoses with anal cancer. After chemotherapy and surgery, she was reported cancer free. Unfortunately, four months later, a malignant polyp was found in the initial area of treatment. After being told the tumor was inoperable and would require a colostomy, Fawcett traveled to Germany and underwent “alternative” treatment. They removed the tumor then allowed Fawcett to go home where she underwent more chemo. The tumor shrunk, but reappeared a few months later. The German team started a new plan of action. However, On April 6th 2009, it was reported that the cancer had metastasized to her liver.

Throughout her ordeal, Fawcett has been strong and courageous.

  1. Oh dear, if she just had more faith in our own Health Care system,
she may be up and around still and enjoying a good quality of life
for more years to come. My take away with all of this is go for the most
aggresive treatment up front. Don’t wait or experiment with alternatives until
    all else fails

  2. Hey you know what? Leave her the hell alone!!! she know’s what she’s doing. You seem to forget that Farrah lost her sister to the same kind of cancer. 5. Her first mistake was drugs. The next was going to a dr. A friend of mine got sick and went to a dr. She died. She knew there was a cure for cancer…but it would basically close the health system down.
