Many people in the United States of America are overweight. Obesity is a big problem because so many Americans eat junk food. Most Americans do not exercise; they spend a majority of their free time watching television.

Nutritionists have said that some people who have too much fat on their bodies and are overweight do not burn off fat and calories the way that people who have a normal weight do. Many Americans have tried different types of diets without positive results. People lose a few pounds and then they end up gaining back the weight they lose or even adding more weight to their bodies. This is because people start to lose weight, then they get back into their old habits and end up eating more junk food than they did before.

A scientific study was done in Australia. There were eighteen adults involved in the study. The study participants were visited three times. They ate a meal and then were put into an indirect calorimeter. They spent eight hours in the indirect calorimeter. This was done to help the researchers measure the calories that the participants’ bodies burned after they ate their meal. They also calculated the calories that were burned that came from fat.

The study found that overweight people burn less calories after they eat than people who maintain a normal weight. If overweight people eat more protein in their meals then they can burn calories and fat the same way that people who maintain a normal weight do. The study is a preliminary study since the number of participants was eighteen which is a very small number of people to do research on.

If you do believe that protein will help you burn more fat and calories then you should start your day off with protein. You should eat protein for breakfast; one great source of protein is eggs. Eggs can be eaten different ways such as boiled, scrambled, or poached.

Protein snacks include nuts, cheese, or yogurt. You need to make sure that you do not eat too many sources of protein in one day because if you consume more than two thousand calories a day then you can gain weight.

Everyone is always looking for a new diet to lose weight. The most important thing to remember is to eat a balanced diet and exercise at least three times a week. If you eat too many foods that are sweets or fatty foods then you will gain weight. If you need to snack eat fruits and vegetables. You can eat sweets but you cannot go overboard. You should also avoid prepackaged foods which contain a lot of calories and salt. These foods may be quick and easy to prepare but they can make you gain weight if eaten regularly. Hopefully, more people will be able to lose weight in the future. We all need to be healthier to be a happier country.
