
According to the National Cancer Institute, with early diagnosis, the survival rate is approximately 80 percent. The NCS advises that females begin having Pap Smears as early as 16 years of age. The CDC advises females as early as 11 years old to get the HPV vaccine. The HPV vaccine was designed to
prevent the growth of cancerous cells.
With early detection and treatment, women have a 92 percent survival rate if determined to be carrying the Human Papillomarvirus. The HPV vaccine can prevent the risk of certain types of cervical cancer.
The CDC recommends all females beginning at the age of 11 consult with their gynecologist and initiate annual pap smears, take the HPV vaccine and refrain from sexual activity until marriage.
