Farrah Fawcett's Struggle With Cancer

Actress Farrah Fawcett’s very public battle with anal cancer was chronicled in painful detail in her recently aired NBC documentary “Farrah’s Story”. But, despite earlier predictions, the actress is still alive, but just barely. She is currently making a sequel with the help of her friend Alana Stewart, who also helped film and produce “Farrah’s Story”.

NBC executives announced that they are considering buying this as yet untitled sequel. According to the New York Post, Fawcett’s family members claim there is already enough filmed material to put together a sequel now.

Fawcett’s only son, Redmond, reported that she has dwindled to 86 pounds. In many painful interviews with NBC affiliates around the nation, long-time partner Ryan O’Neal has informed the press continually that there has been no change in Fawcett’s condition. O’Neal reported to the press that Fawcett has watched “Farrah’s Story” as it was being broadcasted to the nation. He reported that she had a very low pulse before the broadcast, but that it steadily rose throughout the show.

Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006. After an initial treatment in Germany appeared successful, it was then discovered that the cancer had spread to her liver. It is unoperable.

In a May 15 interview with Philadelphia’s NBC affiliate Stewart commented that “Farrah hasn’t given up and neither should we.”

“You mean me?” O’Neal shot back good-naturedly. He also said that he hoped to officially marry Fawcett soon.
